Isn't graphic design a job you could do from home? You might not even need to move. I would see what jobs are being offered in other areas and see if it's possible to work from home.

Wow, I didn't know that Atlanta is good for singles. If you are ready for a change on that matter, why not? My parents live 4 hours away from where I am, and I think I still can deal with that, but if they would have to move to other countries and stay there, it would be harder then.

I hope you get a job as a graphic designer. It would be great to do just that, but maybe you can also try to do close to that. Who knows, maybe you'll find a good job in Atlanta in that field.

Ah, I don't like making these kind of decisions..*lol*

I agree with what everyone else has been saying/suggesting. It is such a hard field to get a job in - especially anything steady. Atlanta may be good for singles, but is it good for graphic design?

For me moving has become a breeze as I've moved roughly every 2 years for 8 years now. I live far away from my parents (one is 100 miles away, the other over 3,000!). I currently live in the same house share as my sister but will soon be about 200 miles away. Which won't be easy!

I hope you manage to make a decision for yourself - it's never easy!

Graphic design definitely is a highly competitive field now and jobs are scarce everywhere. Freelancing is always a good alternative, I have gotten plenty of jobs this way and best of all you can work from home. I hope you work things out and if moving is what's best take the chance just be careful. I understand what you mean about being away from family though.

Interesting I didn't know Atlanta was a good place for singles!
