Band of the Week

This week, I had no problem selecting which band I wanted to feature. The band is called Metric. Some of you may know about this band because they are on the Twilight Saga: Eclipse Soundtrack, but that is not the first time I have heard about this band. Have you heard of a show called Last Call with Carson Daily? For those that don’t know it’s, of course, a late night show that comes on after Jimmy Fallon.

Anywho, usually when his show comes on I change the channel and watch something else; not because it’s boring. Well, this one particular night I didn’t change the channel because I was on the internet surfing the web, and I didn’t feel like finding the remote. I just so happen to look at the TV when I notice a blonde chick jumping up and down while singing. I just thought she looked ridiculous but paying closer attention I noticed how much I like the song she was singing.

It took me a while to figure out what the name of the song was because dear ‘ol Carson Daily didn’t let me know. Shame on him! The name of the song was “Sick Muse.” It has now become one of my favorite songs and I just had to share it with you lovely people in the blog world. Here is a background of the band via Amazon.com:

“Metric are a Canadian indie band built around the duo of singer Emily Haines and guitarist James Shaw, both of whom are also members of the successful Toronto collective Broken Social Scene.

Their synth-pop first earned national exposure in 2001 when a song from a limited-edition EP was used in an advert for Polaroid. Metric’s first proper album was released in 2003 – Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? – and it received warm reviews and sold reasonably well. This was followed by Live It Out in 2005, which divided critics.”

There is really nothing left to say…so I give you “Sick Muse” by Metric! Let me know what you think of this group!
