Band of the Week

This week will be a little different. I know it’s supposed to be a BAND but I just couldn’t let this person slip under the radar. I have never heard of this person until the Twilight: Eclipse soundtrack came out. When I first heard this song I couldn’t stop playing it. Something about her voice is amazing (I know I say that about everyone! lol) Let me introduce you to Sia Furler. I honestly haven’t listened to any of her other work because I love, love, love this song. As I always do, here is some information about Sia Furler:

Sia (full name Sia Furler) hails from the famously laid-back Australian city of Adelaide. Boasting a powerful, soulful voice, she worked the Adelaide jazz circuit during the ’90s as a vocalist for the band Crisp. However, the blonde, blue-eyed antipodean’s big break came only after she followed in the footsteps of many other Aussie artists and hopped on a plane to the U.K. While in London, Sia landed a gig as a backup singer for the very popular and extremely hip English outfit Jamiroquai. In early 2000, she released her first solo single, the alternative pop tune “Taken for Granted,” which debuted at number ten on the busy U.K. singles chart. She has written songs with her bassist and regular co-writer Samuel Dixon and Christina Aguilera for Christina’s fourth studio album, Bionic. Sia confirmed on her website’s blog to have created four “beautiful” songs.

I usually have a YouTube video of the song, but it didn’t have this song even though the other day it was on there. Well, I still found the song online (since I haven’t found a decent wordpress plugin to embed the songs myself…. if you know of one please tell me!!!) Anyways, enjoy!
